What to look for in an MP3 player...
9.Mobile Phones
You may be considering a mobile phone with an mp3 player as your main portable device. There are specific considerations if this is the case. Firstly, will the phone be shipped with headphones, most mobile phones do not have a socket that standard headphones will fit into so you must use the brand and often phone specific type. These can be expensive and it is not worth risking your phone by buying cheaper immitations of the official brand as if your phone fails do to the use of faulty goods it is unlikely to be replaced.
Another issue with mobile phones is storage. A great deal of electronics must fit in a very tight space so storage is not usually as great as you may hope. Some phones have fixed capacity storage too, meaning you cannot expand beyond it. Others will have a slot for a storage card. That way you can expand the memory or swap cards when you need to. Don't forget if your phone has a camera your pictures and videos will be competing for space in the memory too, and the odd picture here and there can soon rack up a good chunk of memory space.
Will your phone just plug in to your pc and allow the transfer of files or will you need special software for this to work? Will that software be upgraded in the future to be compatible with new operating systems?
Another main consideration is what will happen to the music when a call comes through? Often the music will stop and restart when the call ends but it is best to check - if you can configure these options all the better!
